Buenas buenas , I am a Mexican-American filmmaker born and raised in the city of Compton. My storytelling is shaped by the observations and experiences of my childhood, drawing from the everyday realities of my community. I’m driven by a desire to reflect the complexities of life, love, drive and shame, the nuance of social class impact on human life, and the quiet, often-overlooked moments we forget to cherish. My interest in sociology heavily informs both what I choose to explore and the intention I take with each story.
As a true student life, grown folks, and many different non-profit fellowships, I developed a strong foundation in what my passions and purpose are.
MY north star is “Cowards cower, Leaders lead. I am a weapon of my community!”
Film is my weapon of choice for resistance, for healing, and for making sure my community is seen from the eyes of someone right in the middle. Whether I’m creating a short narrative or a doc-style piece rooted in local voices, my goal is always to make work that feels honest, personal, respected and grounded in the lived experiences of those around me.
Currently studying at California State University, of Long Beach, I have NEVER waited for permission or a syllabus to start making it happen.
